What are the current web standards to create a corporate web site ? Before creating one such site what aspects are the UI focus areas for creating Content, Graphics and Navigation.

Do you mean an external website or an internal intranet? Accessibility is a MUST on corporate intranets as any and all members of staff (within reason) in the corporation must be able to access some form of 'the content' (or that content must be made available to them in some other form) or they could sue for discrimination.

On external corporate websites your main considerations will be branding (the corporation will no doubt want their exsting brand, focus and message to be reflected on their website), and you will want to ensure that their values and ideals are conveyed through the design.

There are no real 'rules' that apply to any and all corporations but no one else. You may find that corporate websites are usually more conservative and professional, but that's not always the case, it really depends on the company in question. Just apply the same common-sense that you would when designing any other website...
