Hey All:

I downloaded Apple's Safari browser today, but i wasnt able to use the browser to view any website!

I am always prompted for a name and password to login to a Proxy server.

How can this issue be resolved?

Regards,

Rodney

This usually happens when you are in a corporate environment and there's a filtering proxy that acts a single point of access to the Internet. If this is the case, the login and password you are required to provide are most likely the credentials you use to login into the computer (Domain credentials). It probably does the same with any other browser except Internet Explorer.

Sadly, the solution depends on the browser and proxy implementation. I do not know what Safari does in these circumstances. Try providing your domain credentials 3 or 4 times when accessing the web site and see if grants you access. The credentials will not make it to the web site, they'll be used by the proxy. However, just to be on the safe side, make sure you try it with a trusted web site (your company website for example).
