Hi guys.

I am trying to get some kind of timetable application working. It's not anything professional and thus, I can't get the gist of jQuery yet. I did not find any helpful tutorials either, so if you got a recommendation there; I'd appreciate it.

First of all: What it is supposed to do.

All I really wanted to achieve is the following you can see in the attached drawing. On the left you find div-containers with captions of subjects. On the right then there is a box for Monday (Mo). Now the user is supposed to drag 'n' drop all the classes he got that day to the right in the box. As it can happen that the same period is to endure more than once a day, the captioned containers will stay/reverse on/to the left.

The problem now is that the dropped helper UIs (clones of captioned divs) do not want to stay in the box and I do not have an idea how to figure out their contents either, so that I would be able to handle the input in a way to save it in a database.

I'd appreciate every reply. It surely will help since I'm an absolute beginner at jQuery.

Last but not least: Sorry for my bad English.

Thanks everyone.

This tutorial covers saving the results of a drag and drop interaction to a database, it should help point you in the right direction...
