Cells: These are the individual squares (spaces) within the borders of a table.

This is in the book of html and css I'm reading but I don't know what this really means. Please define it in a more...how do u say...simpler way.

If you think of a table with 3 rows and 1 column, It would have 3 areas/squares (spaces as your book says) in which you could add text (or images or any other kind of data).

Each one of these spaces is an individual cell.

Just like Microsoft Excell is essentially a large table, each field that you can type in would be considered a cell
