I'm currently confronted with a very strange Validation Error I'm unable to remove.
The Result can be seen here: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.onetreuhand.ch%2Ftreuhand%2Fueberuns%2Fone_treuhand_zuerich.html&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0&No200=1&verbose=1&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.654
its telling me:
Line 1, Column 1: character "?" not allowed in prolog ??<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR
as well as:
Line 1, Column 3: XML Parsing Error: Start tag expected, '<' not found ??<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR
Does anyone knows where I did something wrong?
Thanks for your help.
As the error states, apparently your editor is saving your markup with the unicode BOM (byte-order-mark) which is the first few characters you can't see at the beginning of the page. Check to see if your editor has a setting to allow/disallow BOM in your edits and turn that off.
