hey folks,

I'm struggling to remove a white space here :

http://ifa.amu.edu.pl/~xolo/

It;s a joomla template and it validates wonderfully, but after hours of fruitless cross-checking I can;t identify the cause of the white space at the bottom. Have you perhaps experienced such a problem and know how to get rid of the white sapce on the bottom?

I looked at all CSSs attached but couldn't find the reason. Probably it is some CSS behavior that occurs when margin / positioning / paddings are combined together but I don't have that much experience to located the source of it...

Am I getting code-blind?

  • Try setting: overflow: hidden; to div#page in your CSS file. This will eliminate the white space. Or use an alternative clearing method for div#page. Remco over 6 years ago

Try setting:

overflow: hidden;

to div#page in your CSS file. This will eliminate the white space.

Or use an alternative clearing method for div#page.

(sorry for double answer, getting confused about the comment fields)

  • follow-up: it helped and helped-not. I was using a mootools function that was screwed up after overflow:hidden. I dug for another remedy, you may find it very useful as well. http://perishablepress.com/press/2009/12/06/new-clearfix-hack/ cyrylski over 6 years ago

If you use FireBug to inspect the white space element it appears to be rooted in your tag.

  • yes yes, I saw that, the problem is that I can't see the value that could possibly generate this space, it's neither margin nor padding, I guess it's something messed up with with nested elements but can't locate the exact element :/ cyrylski over 6 years ago

I'm not sure what's creating the space, but you can make it look a little better by adding the following anywhere in your CSS after basic_typography.css is imported:

html { background-color: #4A170C; }
