RE this page:

The thumbs display fine in FF, Chrome and IE 8 (inline, in rows), but in IE 6 & 7 the thumbs run in a single column down the page.

Can anyone suggest why? Just another one of those "pain-in-the-ass" IE quirks?

The .thumbsContainer has a fixed width and wraps every item in the grid. Therefore it's breaking the layout. Try setting it's width to auto (or dont't set it at all) and float it to the left.

I bet you don't mean to wrap every single element with a .thumbsContainer, right? :)

Well it's a somewhat clunky script I picked up somewhere... not ideal but it seems to be doing the trick. The better version of those pop-up captions I couldn't use because it was conflicting with another script...

Anyway, I'll try what you said. Thanks for the help.
