I have a website that I built which uses jQuery Cycle. Within those cycled divs, I have some text. For some reason, in IE, that text gets hidden, and I cannot figure out what styles need to change to make it show up.

If you test it in Safari/FF etc. you will see text above the main image that says the name of the artist, date, etc. But, if you view this same page in IE, that text is hidden. I have a feeling that it has something to do with overflow being hidden, but I can't figure out where I have that wrong. Any ideas would be appreciated!

IE has z-index bugs and often prioritizes DOM order over z-index, try putting the <div> that the text is in after the images instead of before them

  • That text is not positioned absolute or relative, so I am not sure if it would be a z-index bug. Nic Hubbard almost 10 years ago
  • have you tried changing them? When no z-index is specified, DOM order usually controls stack order danwellman almost 10 years ago
