I am experiencing a problem with a website update today -- It seems my z-index values are messing up in IE8. When you hover over the menu on the left, submenus pop out, but in IE8 the submenus are drawn behind the "Ugens Fokus" section in the middle column. Firefox works correctly, and I have seen IE7 work correctly as well. IE8 in compatibility mode seems to be broken too (though on my own machine, comp mode is disabled).

Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks-

z-index issues are common in IE unfortunately because the browser mistakingly creates a z-index stack for each relatively positioned parent instead of for the whole page.

One thing you can try is giving the pop-up's parent container a higher z-index than the popup (and other elements on the page), which usually resolves the issue.

if this doesn't help try giving the container's next relatively positioned container a higher z-index. And so on...
