I have just a bit of familiarity with javascript.

Say I have an image map with 10 clickable polygons.

When clicking on any one of those polygons, I would like a placeholder div underneath that to swap in ANOTHER image map with 10 clickable polygons.

And after clicking on any polygon of that 2nd image map, I would like an image in a placeholder div underneath that to swap an image.

(So there are 2 levels to go through before the main image beneath gets swapped. and there's a total of 100 possible images that could go into the 3rd tier.)

I say I'm using image maps because that's what I know, but I'm open to ideas not involving image maps -- hopefully my description gives you an idea what I'm after.

I know I can accomplish this using frames, but I would like to try accomplish this using whatever javascript (or jquery or any other suitable resource) that might work.

I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction. (Any examples of where you may have seen something like this before (or suggestions for any javascript resources that might apply here) would also be extremely helpful.)
