Hi,

I'm trying to get the lavalamp menu working in a theme, but it just doesn't seem to wanna happen!

I've checked and rechecked the paths for the files, etc - but to no avail.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thank you

Looking through the source of the page it seems that you're linking to several different versions of jQuery (1.2.3 and 1.2.6) as well as Mootools. Could it be that they are conflicting in some way?

Try disabling all the the plugins/script files except those that are needed for the lavalamp and see if you can get it to work on its own. Once it's working, add the components back in one by one and that may tell you if any of the other components specifically are conflicting with it :)

In your html, you're calling the lavalamp script by using

    $(function() {
    $(".menuitem").lavaLamp({
        fx: "backout",
        speed: 700,
        click: function(event, menuItem) {
            return false;
        }
    });
});

And yet you don't have any element in your html with the class .menuitem. have you tried replacing .menuitem with .lavaLampNoImage?

have you tried:

Hi, thank you both ...

I've tried using .lavaLampNoImage as well as A. I've also tried removing plug-ins and additional jquery scripts that were being called ...

I wish there was an actual Wordpress plug-in for this thing! Not sure what else to do at this point. Could there be something in the css or jquery files I'm missing?

Css is using .lavaLampNoImage

Thanks, Jennifer

I'm not sure what version plugin you're using, but this one has demos you can check out/copy

Finally fixed ... the files were conflicting with mootools and I needed to do this: var $jq = jQuery.noConflict();

Thank you both for your help!
