Anybody know how to get Jquery to perform this function, as soon as the page loads, rather than having to enter the rel attribute in?

You can have a jquery selector for all images or specific classes, ids, or attribute values. I think you should do a crash course tutorial and get the basics real quick. You'll answer a lot in about 15 minutes of reading. Focus on this section of the jQuery tutorials related to selectors and events:
