I just upgraded to CS5, and it is missing one of the features that I regularly relied on: Lighting effects. I found these to be really high quality and elegant. On of the plug-ins not supported in 64-bit mac in CS5 is lighting effects.

Does anyone know of any alternatives, plugins, extensions, 3rd party software (like topaz), etc that I can use to achieve some really amazing lighting effects?

There are some CS5 Photoshop plug-ins on Mac that do not work in 64-bit mode.. the lighting effect is one of them.

If you want to use it you need to run Photoshop in 32-bit mode. You can do this by going to "Get Info" on the Photohop.app file and selecting "Open in 32 bit mode".

Adobe has an article on it here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/836/cpsid_83656.html
