I'm redesigning my own site and am a bit rusty after all the recent wordpress powered sites I've built for clients!

I want to include some social media image links where my small logo is at the right of each section (underneath and to the right of my photo when the page first loads). I want them aligned precisely along the bottom of that border line but can't manage it in all browsers.

An easy solutions?

CSS absolute positioning. Give the parent container

position: relative;

and the item you need:

position: absolute:
top: NNpx;
left: NNpx

You can of course use 'bottom' instead of 'top' and 'right' instead of 'left'.

In small doses, absolute positioning is brilliant.

You could create a container around the image and have it be the exact same dimensions as the image, then make it position: relative. Next, absolutely position the icons on top of the photo.

If you are using actual IMG elements, make sure you use

img { vertical-align: text-bottom; }

img { vertical-align: baseline; }
