I want to find a good book about Web usability, i found this one "Don't Make Me Think" but it seams old and contains old ideas, do you recommend a good one for me or at least some good articles or websites to read from?
You really should read Don't Make Me Think. Yes, it was published in 2005 which might seem old in 'internet years' but most of the advice is pretty timeless. The Author Steve Krug also has a new book called Rocket Surgery Made Easy which I haven't read but is sure to be a hit.
Probably one of the most well-known web usability authors is Jakob Nielsen - check out his books and his website.
Other authors whose books/blogs/articles you should check out:
- Donald A. Norman (The Design of Everyday Things is one of his books that gets recommended time and time again)
- Louis Rosenfeld
- Jared M. Spool
- Robert Hoekman Jr.
- Luke Wroblewski
(This is a good list to start with, but I'm sure I've left out plenty of other great writers)
Also, try doing a search for 'usability' on A List Apart and you'll find loads to read.
Also a bit aged, but a good read nevertheless is "The Inmates Are Running The Asylum" by Stanley Cooper...
