I have a page that works fine in all browsers but the portrait image shifts to the right in IE7.

Here is the page: http://www.beckdesigngroupllc.com/contact_us.html

Here is the HTML:

 <div class="adam">
        <p>Adam Ferrara</p>
 </div>

Here is the CSS:

body#inside.contact .adam  { position: relative; top: 34px; left: 610px;  width: 352px; height: 254px; background: url(../_images/Adam2.png) no-repeat left top; z-index: 5; }

Other pages display the image properly and use the same code, so there is something, perhaps the Google map that is pushing the image out of place, but I am not sure.

I would appreciate some help.

Thanks.

I suspect IE7 is unhappy about this empty div:

 <div class="sub-nav">
  </div>

if you remove it does it improve matters?

or it might be the iframe and the strict doctype...

or it might be the javascripted menu reserving space needed for the image...

try setting a z-index on the menu?

I'll keep looking.

  • Excellent detective work Tony! I added dimensions to it for IE7 and everyone is playing nicely together now. Well done. fmz over 6 years ago
