I have a fairly simple page layout with a main content area on the left, and a sidebar on the right. The sidebar is set to float:right. In IE, this pushes the main content area down below the sidebar. In FireFox, Safari, etc, it looks fine.

I have tried giving the main content area a div with position:relative, with no luck. How can I make the main content area display to the left of the sidebar?

Got it! Just had to set the content div to float:left and set the width for both main and sidebar divs. Seems to work now....

if float right, u need to put the right float before the left (main) one.

<div id="float_right">
</div>

<div id="main">
</div>

or put them as float:left

<div id="main">

</div>
<div id="float_left">

</div>
