I have been searching for ages to find a way to do this and it seems almost impossible so I thought I would try my luck and ask here. What I need to do is this:

Allow people to comment on an authors / users profile, so the profile page acts like a feedback page for that user.

I have added the comments template to author.php but obviously that does not work. I have also searched for plugins and code to help do this but there does not seem to be anything out there that can achieve this.

Can anyone think of a way of doing this?

I created an asynchronous comments system that uses jQuery and PHP to save and display comments. The comments are stored in a mysql database so a wordpress site already has everything you would need to implement it.

See the code in action at the demo page. I also wrote a tutorial about the code and how it all works, which is linked to from the test page....

Other pages on my site use the standard Wordpress comment system, but the demo page uses the custom comments...any help?

  • It might help! do you know if it works on an authors profile page, author.php as standard comments dont work on this page richard bruce about 9 years ago
  • I haven't tested that particular page so I can't say for sure, but because it is separate from the standard wordpress comments I'd risk saying that it probably would, even if it required a minor tweak... danwellman about 9 years ago
