Hello,

I am wondering why these words ("engaging. We") always wrap down to the next line together. If I increase the padding by one pixel both words drop down even though there is a space between them. If I increase the padding by 1 px shouldn't just the word "We" be moved down?

Here is the html that is output.

<p>Welcome to burnham richards.<br /> We elevate brands by making them relevant, compelling and engaging. We have many successful elevator stories to share, so climb on board and let&#8217;s go up together.</p>

Tested in Chrome & Firefox.

I see a &nbsp; (non-breaking space) code between the words. You just need to delete this and replace it with a regular space.

  • Thanks. I deleted the space and put it back in there and it seems to work. I looked at the source on Chrome and Firefox and I didn't see the &nbsp; How did you see it? Patrick Rauland over 8 years ago
  • I used the FireBug addon for FireFox and was able to see it with that. http://getfirebug.com/ Artistic Abode over 8 years ago

The behaviour you expect would be correct, which suggests there is more to your text than meets the eye. has it been copied and pasted from Word into a CMS? or copied and pasted into your html editor?

can we see the live version, or a replica of it?
